Polly Want A Cracker?

Well, we have a new addition to the family, and his name is "Fetch". After much begging, whining and pouting, we finally let the boys get a bird. They really love having a new pet. Especially Owen. Of course he was up at 4:30 am the 1st morning we had the bird. We had a fun day today. Justin had basketball this morning. Then this afternoon we went on a nature hike at Umstead State Park. We probably hiked about 2 miles. It was a little chilly but we bundled up. The boys were hilarious. They were acting like pirates. There were alot of people out on the trails and anytime anyone time we had a passer by, the boys would give us the secret signal and then freeze like statues as the "Redcoats" passed by. As soon as they passed the boys would shoot them with their guns. This evening the boys & I had a Mens night. Jamie went to a friends house and the boys & I went ice skating. The experience is a little different here than I remember 20 years ago at the Yack Arena. The ice rink is an old roller rink that has been converted. During open skating they have a DJ pumping music, turn off the lights and have a disco ball and strobe lights going. Owen is too cool for me and spent the whole evening hanging out with some friends he made at the rink. Halfway through the night Justin didn't want me to skate with him either. That was O.K., I spent the rest of the evening impressing the chicks with my suave skating moves.

Walking In A Winter Wonderland!

We got snow!!!! About an inch or so. Started coming down good last night. We were at a birthday party down at the clubhouse and all the kids were out playing in the snow. We went out this morning and took some pics of the boys playing in the snow. They were having fun but it was cold. Just enough to satisfy all of us. Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

Today we had Owen's birthday party at Jellybeans. He had about 9 friends, they had pizza, cake, and skating for 4 hours!! He had a great time as you can see by the pictures. Some of the boys were from his class now, some were from kindergarten and some from our neighborhood. He's got some good buddies and I can't believe he is already 7 with his own little clique of friends. He had fun showing off his skating skills as you can see by the video, he was a little bummed that he wasn't as good as the guy in the red shirt! I kept telling him not worry with a little practice he'll get there. haha!

Guess Who's 7?

Can you believe 7 years old already? The first three pictures are from birthdays 4, 5, and 6. We had a nice evening. Although Owen was exhausted from being up since 4:30 a.m. because he was so excited it was his birthday, he had a great day (he was also up at 12:00, 3:00, and 4:00, that kid!). I brought in a birthday snack for his class and after school we went to his choice restaurant (T.G.I. Friday's), came home and let him open his gifts and then did cake and ice cream. He is having an all boys party at Jellybeans roller rink on Saturday, we are all excited for that!! He's a big shot now!

Thanks to everyone who sent him cards/gifts. We really appreciate it and it makes it extra special for Owen which is great. Thanks again!
