Another one on the loose!

Well, another milestone at the Livernois’ homestead. Justin started kindergarten today. He handled like a champ. He was really excited for school and to ride the bus. He had a great day and loved the bus ride. He will not go back until Monday when he will start full time. He (and I) is looking forward to the new schedule. We have posted some pics of him growing up to this momentous occasion. I think they are in chronological order.
On the political front, Owen had his primary election today. He is still in the running and is leading the pack. He is up against 4 other candidates and the final vote will be tomorrow. We had some more severe weather tonight. We have had really bad storms every night since last Friday. We get the craziest lightning. Well, I guess that is about it.

The Big Man On Campus

Well, it is hard to believe, but my 1st born started 2nd grade Monday. I am proud of my young boy as he is maturing. I have posted some pics from over the years to show how he has changed. They are in no particular order, but the last 3 are the 1st days of Kindergarten, 1st grade & 2nd grade. Owen found out today that he has a class election tomorrow for class president. Of course he is running. He wrote a speech and has been practicing all night and Jamie is ironing on the letters of his T-shirt that will say “Vote For Owen”. He also has some pencils he is going to bribe the voters with. We will give you an update on the election and on Justin’s first day of kindergarten, which is tomorrow (he is really excited).

Happy 5th of July!

No, that is not a type-o in the title, we just had to celebrate on the 5th down here because of some severe storms. We had a pretty fun weekend thus far despite some crazy weather. On Friday morning we went downtown Apex for the 4th of July festival & parade. It was a lot of fun, but man was it hot. Although it was only in the mid 90’s, it was extremely humid. On Friday evening we went up to Lifetime Fitness and swam for awhile and then found our place on the lounge chairs for the fireworks. Unfortunately a wicked storm rolled in and hit about 30 minutes before start time. We got tons of rain and some wild wind, thunder & lightning. Saturday we went to the movies in the middle of the day. We didn’t know it, but while in the theatre, we got hit with another wild storm. More wind, rain, thunder & lightning. When we got home, a neighbors tree was down from the lightning and we had 6 shingles from our roof in the back yard and debris all over the front door. That must have been some intense wind. Last night we went back up to lifetime to watch the fireworks from the parking lot. They started the show about 30 minutes early because we got hit with another storm. Not sure what we’re gonna do today. Maybe just chill out. Owen needs to get some rest so he is ready for 2nd grade tomorrow.
