Well - it's been quite awhile since we've updated the blog. We are enjoying our summer without a doubt. It is very hot and humid down here but we love it and love hanging out at the pool almost everyday. Owen is already on his first "track out" for the next three weeks and is excited to already have a break from school. He is doing wonderful in first grade and loves his teacher, she is very sweet. We do hear about all the hard work he does all day and that he is a very busy little student. Justin is enjoying summer but has expressed that he misses school and is excited to go back! He will start the day after Labor day. He will be going to St. Andrew's preschool which is part of one of the few Catholic churches down here and it's absolutely beautiful.
So in the pictures above: The outdoor nature pics were last weekend. We visited the Hemlock Bluffs Nature Preserve in Cary. We had a great time we didn't see any wildlife except for some squirrels and a lizard. Justin led us on a long nature hike and did a great job, he was on a mission. The pic of Owen is at Lifetime Fitness on the rock wall, he has been practicing and has made it to the top of one of the paths. He loves it and is actually very good at it too! Some of the other pics are just miscellaneous pictures.
There is one thing that I do not like about North Carolina and that is the spiders! Wow, huge, I'll take a centipede over some of these mini tarantula like spiders that we've had in the house and in the garage any day. They are fast and they jump when you try to kill them. I took a pic of one we killed in the garage just a little bit ago, mind you it shrank after we sprayed it to it's demise. I was in the garage picking at it's legs to try and show you how big it was with straightened out paper clips to get a good picture of it (that's the truth, my tomboy days paid off!) and yes it did have hair! Soooo, visitors beware some very large spiders creeping around these parts of town.
Well, hope yawl are having a great summer and life is grand.
Until next time,
Goldilocks and the Three Bears ;)
Ok...Seriously!!!
ReplyDeleteWhy did you have to post the spider picture to warn visitors? I think we are the next visitors & I have not an ounce of tomboy in me. I WAS excited now.. I'm a little scared. Remember when I said I'd sleep any where well.. um I changed my mind not the floor!
It's about time for new pics, I have missed seeing their cute little faces. Justin & those eyes & Owen & those teeth.
The rock wall looks huge. Good job Owen.
Well it's wonderful to hear & see you guys are doing great & enjoying your summer. Can't wait to see you guys to make our summer vacation complete.
Love you guys xoxoxoxoxoxo

Great pics. Just you look huge, and it looks like you did a great job on your nature walk. Owen the rock wall looks too big for me, how in the world did you make it to the top? You guys look super happy as usual. Sorry I have'nt sent any letters lately guys, but I might be sending a surprise with Aunt Sissa and Kenz.
ReplyDeleteLove you all and miss you very much.
First we have to say how much we enjoyed visiting last month.
ReplyDeleteCome on, Goggle boy leading a nature walk in the heat? How much did you have to pay him!! Justin looks like he grew a foot since we were there.
Cap'n Jack, can't beleive how high you are on that wall..........BE CAREFUL....just kidding, have fun but don't knock out any teeth up there..
And the spiders, that's no big deal....we're sending Kenz down to collect a few to bring home...
Glad to hear everything is going well, and everyone doing fine.
Take care, hugs & kisses to all, love, Gramma & Grampa
Hey, that looks like the same spider that bit Peter Parker! Oh my god you dont think Owen got bit and maybe thats why he is climbing that rock wall so well? (check him out) Justin looks like he was pround of himself being a leader. They are so sweet, really miss you guys.~Love Mom~ xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteThe picture of Justin in the first piecture is priceless, it is so cute I am still cracking up. Definately one of the pictures to save to make his rehearsal dinner picture show when he gets married. I can't believe Owen has a tooth in the gap he has had so long he will look different now. After what Dan and Deb said about the summer humidity, it looks like a winter visit for me only and if the spiders hibernate in the cooler weather, it will be another good reason to avoid NC in the summer -spiders are not my thing either. Lindsay says it is much more humid in Delaware too. So do you think you like the breaks in school? Do they have school work to do during the few weeks they have off? Are you making plans to return at Christmas?
